Position Announcement:Director, Policy Programs

Full-time; based in Washington, D.C. (US-based remote possible)

ABOUT DEPLOY/US

DEPLOY/US is an accelerator of climate leadership. Through convening, infrastructure, and grantmaking,  we scale the capacity and impact of the field of climate-forward civic enterprises leading and engaging right-of-center constituencies. Everything we do builds the foundations or bridges required to achieve bipartisan breakthroughs on climate-change mitigation policy. DEPLOY/US is a strictly nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit.

POSITION SUMMARY

Director, Policy Programs will orchestrate a program of research and research funding that enriches the menu of climate-policy options available to lawmakers.

You will guide funding to nonprofit institutions, especially think tanks and academic centers, to bring more rigorous and useful scholarship to right-of-center climate and decarbonization policy. You will develop a program to fund and harmonize research agendas across partner-grantee institutions.

You will also lead and publish research from DEPLOY/US. This research will relate less to specific policy instruments than to delivering products broadly useful to an array of allies, partner-grantees, or lawmakers.

You will lead bridge-building efforts among scholars, institutions, and Congressional Staff, to strengthen ideas and relationships that unlock bipartisan cooperation on climate (e.g., ad hoc tables and occasional conferences, including among Ecoright and Environmental Justice constituencies and scholars).

DEPLOY/US is an equal opportunity employer. We strongly encourage applicants from diverse experiential and demographic backgrounds to apply.
