PROGRAMS LEADERSHIP — TWO HIRES

VICE PRESIDENT OR DIRECTOR LEVEL, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

About DEPLOY/US

DEPLOY/US is a nonprofit convener, funder, and accelerator of climate and energy leadership across the political spectrum. A national organization, DEPLOY/US, seeks to hire two experienced program leaders to help scale and strengthen its portfolio of programs advancing durable US decarbonization outcomes.

DEPLOY/US’ goal is ambitious, durable decarbonization policy. With a bipartisan team and board, we are the only organization in the country focused on building the capacities, amplifying the voices, and scaling the impact of the entire ecosystem of civic enterprises and leaders working right-of-center on climate and energy as a crucial foundation for bipartisan policy.

POSITION SUMMARY

DEPLOY/US is hiring two program leaders to help build and scale the Ecoright field in the United States at a decisive moment for energy, policy, and global emissions. At DEPLOY/US, we use the term “Ecoright field” to refer broadly to right-of-center organizations and leaders advancing climate, clean energy, and environmental solutions, as well as aligned organizations that may not identify as right-of-center but who engage credibly with these constituencies and priorities.

These roles sit at the center of our work: partnering with leaders across the ecosystem, mobilizing resources, and building the coalitions, infrastructure, and strategy required to drive durable climate and clean energy progress. This is not a traditional program role—it is field-building at the highest level. The work is dynamic and adaptive: at times deploying capital, at times aligning partners, at times shaping strategy, seeding new efforts, or strengthening what already exists. Success requires the judgment to understand what the field needs most—and the leadership to help deliver it.

We are hiring for two positions, with level (Director or Vice President) determined by experience and role alignment. These positions are intentionally scoped together. We are seeking a complementary pair of leaders whose strengths, networks, and instincts will shape how the work evolves.

Both roles are field-facing and funder-facing, requiring a blend of strategic judgment, relationship leadership, philanthropic engagement, and hands-on execution. Both roles share a common core mandate, with the primary distinction centered on portfolio focus:

  • Federal / Innovation Focus: Leading coalition-building, strategy, and resource mobilization around a forward-looking innovation agenda. This role will operate with a federal center of gravity, helping to shape policy direction, build aligned coalitions, and drive coordinated action that accelerates next-generation climate and energy solutions.

  • State / Deployment Focus: Leading field-building and coalition architecture to unlock clean energy deployment at scale, with a focus on state-level policy, permitting, and on-the-ground capacity. This role will strengthen the organizations, partnerships, and infrastructure needed to translate ambition into real-world decarbonization outcomes.

These focus areas are starting points, not silos. Both leaders will contribute across the portfolio and help shape DEPLOY/US’ overall strategy.

We do not expect any one candidate to bring every capability. Collectively, we are seeking leaders who bring:

  • Deep relationships, credibility, and coalition-building capacity within conservative or center-right networks

  • Strong policy instincts, strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and sound leadership judgement

  • Entrepreneurial vision and execution, including the ability to identify opportunities, mobilize resources, and translate strategy into action

  • Experience strengthening organizations, coalitions, or ecosystems, facilitating organizational and individual learning, and adapting both strategy and execution to meet evolving needs

  • Exceptional ability to engage and build trust with external stakeholders, including funders, partners, policymakers, and field leaders

This is a foundational role in building a once-in-a-generation movement in American civil society. We’re building the Ecoright field into a force that changes the political physics of decarbonization. DEPLOY/US has grown from an idea into the leading engine for powering right-of-center climate and energy leadership, and is scaling to meet the moment. These hires will help define what comes next.
