Leaders Share Lessons on Building Powerful, Durable Civil Society in a Wide Array of Political Contexts

DEPLOY/US, the Hewlett Foundation, and Our Common Home co-convened in Chicago the first major gathering of right-of-center climate, clean energy, and resiliency leaders from around the world, alongside key leaders in philanthropy. For many participants, this was their first time meeting international peers face-to-face. They compared political, narrative, and field-building challenges across countries, and identified shared lessons for building the broad support needed to rapidly scale clean energy and advance conservation goals across political cycles.

After more than a decade of field-building in the US, and the recent development of a broader international field, this gathering marked an important step toward creating a connected global Ecoright community. (July 2026)
